Highlights included Delightfulee, The Procrastinator, and the decent-selling Caramba! His compositions were increasingly modal and free-form, stretching the boundaries of hard bop; however, his funkier instincts were still evident as well, shifting gradually from boogaloo to early electrified fusion.
